Kate began her career more than 30 years ago as an arts and entertainment reporter, critic and columnist for the Calgary Herald, where she worked for 13 years. She has also written about the arts for the Georgia Straight, the Calgary Straight, Avenue, Big Picture and Prime Time. Eleven of Kate’s articles and columns were featured in the book Best of City Palate. She is the co-author of The Lobster Kids’ Guide to Exploring Calgary.
Kate lives with her two children and her husband, cookbook author and communications specialist Rockin’ Ronnie Shewchuk, in North Vancouver, B.C.
